Wool and Roller Art Day

Today the children created Artworks by rolling their playdough rollers in paint and then onto their sheets of paper. We wound strands of wool around the rollers last night, so that the process of rolling the rollers over the page can create interesting patterns. Such gloriously messy play fun! The kids did a great job of dipping their rollers and using different colours in their Artworks. Nadine came to do a German enrichment session with the children...they had it up in the tree house! What fun. :)

I forgot to mention yesterday; most of the children are now very confident in using scissors with both hands! Some were a bit fearful and doubtful of their ability to use scissors, but now that they’ve got the two-handed technique down, playdough cutting has become a super fun fine motor activity. Toinee felt especially proud of her achievement! We continue to casually demonstrate through example how to hold the scissors with one hand, but the children will start to experiment with this themselves, when they feel ready.

Great exploring and creating today everyone!
