Row Row Row the Boat!

This week we had an old favourite theme...Row Row Row the boat! We made a spectacular foil river in the sand pit and the tots helped the teachers make little boats with corks cut in half. Pouring water into the one end, we played with floating and velocity concepts whilst having a super time!

We engaged in a fun letter recognition activity of fishing letters out of a pond and the favourite activity of the week must have been our "number fishing" game where the tots caught fish with our magnet rod and matched the number of dots to the written numbers on matching fish. Great early numeracy, number recognition and matching and colour matching activity.

We made a lovely boat, wax resist craft and celebrated independence week in style with great sensory messy play activities.

All in all a wonderful, fun filled week. Well done tots!

The three little pigs- week 2

Our second week of the three little pigs was a blast! Lots of wonderful crafts, building, story-telling, sequencing and early literacy activities. We also did some science exploration in our huffing and puffing...seeing what objects are light enough to be blown by our breath or the wind and which ones aren't.

Ha ha! It is just a toy scorpion...still! Brave Girl!
