Today the kiddos had a real Waldorf nature creative play day. They walked around the yard collecting an array of natural materials. We then gave them natural clay, water and our play animals and let them loose. What they came up with was, as usual, amazingly creative and looks like intense fun. Thank you so much Linn's mommy for all the wonderful donations of old toys and materials!

Shongololo Craft and Monkeynastix Day
Today the tots had Monkeynastix! Fabulous fun as usual. The children observed and interacted with our "shongololos" handling them carefully. They then did a craft where they pasted little silver discs in a row to represent the shongololo. Great fine motor excercise. The children then amazed us with their mark-making abilityin drawing thin little lines for legs on the shongololos. This kind of mark-making is an essential skill that toddlers require and is the first step to learning to write.

Painting Shongololo Exploration Day
Today the tots had a great time painting their clay creations with Michelle. We built a little millipede ecosystem over the weekend and the children watched in wonder what these remarkable creatures got up to! Some were even brave enough to hold them in their hands. The children then painted their representation of a “Shongololo.” Seeing the photos of their paintings brought tears to my eyes…a little over the top perhaps, but their representations are so unique, beautiful and personal! A magical glimpse into their imaginations and minds. Thank you gang. xxx
