More Metal and Magnetic Explorations

Some more fun magnetic explorations today! We mixed metal and non-metallic objects in bowls and the children discovered that the magnets only picked up the metal ones. For a fine-motor activity the tots screwed nuts onto bolts…we had a metal batch of nuts and bolts as well as a plastic one, so that they can differentiate between the weight and feel of the two materials. We started with our Jolly Phonics fun today, looking at the letter S…a snake that slithers in the grass!
