Friday Party fun

Today was Shasmida's birthday! We had a super party themed day...The lads played with balloons and did a great counting game of stacking them (the balloons) on each other on the couch before kicking them all off with a flair! They also did a super gross motor activity of kicking the balloons outside as if they were soccer balls.
We painted pictures on the cement with water and after drew over them with chalk. Such fun!
As a treat, the boys enjoyed a bowl full of freshly popped popcorn with hidden letters and numbers.
Mmmm...all in all a lovely day. We missed you Etienne! See you all next week!

 Such artists!!

Clay extravaganza day

We had a quiet Thursday today with our little friend Christian not feeling at his best and staying home. Etienne and Harry missed him! The boys enjoyed playing outside and did an interesting sensory activity where they decorated a ball of clay with all kinds of oddities. A fun activity with a colour differentiation and fine motor component as well.

I love the interesting little cars the boys build with the Duplos!

Here it comes Etienne! Catch!

Thank you

This is a special shout-out of thanks to one of our incredible mamas...Camille!
Camille designed our AWESOME Tiny Tots and Tall Tales's logo, made us many a wooden Montessori puzzle AND is busy designing our little school's murals!
You rock Camille and we are really blessed that you are part of our team :) xx

Fruit salad day

What a marvelously cool and damp day! Excellent for puddle splashing, sand pit playing and tree-house exploring :) The lads had a busy day with lots of  exploring and creating.
We had a delicious fine motor activity of making fruit skewers...super for colour exploration, taste and smell stimulus, sequencing and of course, SUPER FUN! I'll let the pictures tell the story of our day...

Moonsand Day

Today we experimented with some home-made kinetic sand!

Store-bought kinetic sand is rather pricy but using only cornflour, sea sand and water, one can mimic it rather easily. I think we made ours too wet today...it is still supposed to be crumbly and should keep its shape when compressed, but the children enjoyed it non-the-less! The lads played with the sand for ages, driving their cars through it and playing around with its rather interesting molding properties.
Christian missed his mommy today, but baking bread and playing with the sand really cheered him up! The boys also really enjoyed our swing today...

Shaving cream painting day

Aah! A Magical Monday indeed!

The boys had a great time experimenting with our new funnel and pipe box...a great sensory and science activity. The children can observe what happens as they "pour" objects through the funnels. They enjoyed watching the rice and beans trickle through to the bottom. It is also a bit of a size sorting activity, where they can see what size objects will fit through the different sized funnels, and what sizes won't.

Our fine motor activity for the week is using tongs to put different coloured pom-poms into the corresponding colour toilet roll. Ettienne seems to be really good at this!

Our messy play activity today was painting with shaving cream. Boy, the lads got really into it! I see that Christian and Ettienne made it into a full body sensory art work! Well done boys!

Look at that concentration!!

 Forearms...LOVE IT!!
