Eensy Weensy Spider Craft Day

We've been looking at Nursery rhymes and songs and are zoning in on Eensy Weensy Spider at the moment! Your Tot might enjoy singing it at home with you too...let them show you the actions! Today we did a fun craft with watercolour paints and wax resist white oil pastel. We drew spider webs for the children and after spraying their page with water, they painted over the pastel and the web just jumped to the foreground magically! We sprinkled course sea salt on the paintings to create a "dapple" effect and once they dried, we pasted our little spider down. The paintings came out beautifully!
