Today we focused on our sense of smell…a
wonderful sense and a super fun one to stimulate! The children explored
different jars with spices, essence dissolved in water, dried and fresh herbs
from our sensory garden. They were intrigued at how the different jars that
looked the same could smell so vastly different! I love how Daniel experimented in mixing the different scents!
As many of our children have baby siblings, we recently created a baby fantasy play corner with baby dolls, clothes a crib etc. Pretend playing with babies is a crucial skill for both boys and girls in this age-group, as it is a role-playing activity that starts sowing the seeds of nurturing and caring for those younger than us. I see that we have some great fathers in the making! Well done Christian and Daniel! Seems like my boy Harry still needs to refine his baby carrying skills! :D
Let the sniffing begin!
