Salt Tray Art Day

We had a full and busy Tuesday morning! Nadine came over and did a German enrichment session with the children, there was lots of exploring to do and playing to be done in the sandpit and tree house, music to be made, and, of course, our sensory art activity for the day: Salt Tray drawing.
Yesterday we painted a couple of box trays an assortment of colours. Once dry, we put a thin layer of salt over the paint. This morning the children had to use their fingers to create patterns in the salt, so the colours would show. Wow! It was a real hit! Everyone enjoyed playing with the salt trays. It is fascinating seeing what vastly different styles of exploring and creating each of our munchkins have!
