Magic Soup Measuring and Pouring Day

WELCOME TO THE THIRD TERM! We are planning to have a blast here at Tiny Tots and Tall Tales this term. We started the day with one of our all time favourite activities...magic soup! WE used water with food colourant, sugar, slices of apple and lemon, leaves from our sensory garden, rice crispies, loads of cups, ladles, tongs and measuring spoons! A wonderful activity for pretend play, laying mathematical foundations of measuring volume, counting and just plain having fun! Lots of fine motor control needed in scooping, pouring, tasting and stirring! The best part was that the rice crispies turned yellow and red from the food colourant...the children were delighted :)
