Chalk And Water Painting Name Exploration Day
We did a fun name recognition activity today where Constantia wrote the children’s names on our little black board with chalk and the kids then used a paintbrush to paint water over their name’s letters, moving from left to right. It is a wonderful, non-threatening way to write their name that is fun, completely impermanent and allows for large, expressive movements of the arm and wrist. Just another fun way to get familiar with the shape and form of their names and a great Montessori exercise to subconsciously condition the brain to “read” from left to right.
The kids made some great looking mud dishes with additional band and supplies from our sensory garden!
Well done on excellent exploration gang! Toini, your new hairstyle is AWESOME! So lovely beautiful girl!
