Today we designed a fun number recognition activity where the kids each got a tray with parking bays numbered from 1-5 and cars with the numbers 1-5 pasted on their roofs. They then had to “park” the cars in the right parking bay, familiarising themselves with the shapes and names of the different numbers.
A super counting and number recognition activity to try at home!
We are continuing with our name recognition activities and are starting with the “feel” of letters in our name this week. Constantia cut letters out of fine sandpaper. The children trace the letter with their finger, saying its sound as they move along. A great sensory activity that engages the children’s left and right brain and is fantastic for letter recognition.
