Nature Exploration and Adventure Day

Only Harry and Paco today! These two little munchkins really bonded in a special way today! Constantia and Shasmida took them on a “field trip” in our yard. The wonderful thing about our location is that we have a lovely big, undeveloped natural space for exploration! The children each got a little yogurt container and could collect all kinds of natural materials like leaves, grasses, flowers pebbles, sand etc.
We then dived into our natural clay and created all kinds of wonderful, organic pieces of three-dimensional art. Well done gang! Constantia showed the children how she builds a kraal using little twigs and how one can even make animals using the clay and twigs! A super fun day of adventure.
Our fine-motor focus this week is “fishing" using a pipe cleaner hook to catch a little pipe cleaner fish in a jar.  It takes great concentration and maneuvering, but the children are doing really well with it!
