During circle time, Constantia and Shasmida hid different objects in a pillow case and children could stick their hands in and explore the feeling of the objects with their hands. It is a wonderful activity to stimulate sensory exploration, shape recognition, imagination and is just plain fun ;)

Making Soup Day
Today we made pretend soup! We gathered herbs, leaves and flowers from our sensory garden and since Mothers day was just the other day, we had some dried rose petals from a bouquet that started to get old. We cut some oranges and lemons and had a bowl of smooth pebbles on the "cooking station." Each child got a tub with water and food colourant and utensils and could add their ingredients as they wished, stirring, whisking and happily cooking away! A super imaginative play set-up with a rich array of different fragrances, textures and colours.
