We had four fabulous boys today!
Lots of exciting water exploration today! The boys excavated objects out of blocks of ice using tools. They loved it! They worked in the sun and as the ice melted their job became easier and easier. Shasmida chatted to the boys about the sun pulling water up into the air and we did an evaporation experiment by leaving a drop in a little cap in the sun. When the boys came back after a couple of hours, the water had magically disappeared!
We are also marking a little cup with water during the week to see how the water level drops in the sun.
Lovely outside water play activity where the boys poured, scooped and squirted away, learning about volume, gravity and the nature of water through play.
Christmas is coming closer! Our fine-motor activity this weeks is weaving wool through pine-cones. Deliciously finicky, and demanding quite a bit of tactile dexterity and concentration!
