We also made a "rocket balloon" where we pasted a balloon onto a straw and thread it through a string tied between the couch and the wall. One then inflates the balloon and let it go to "rocket" from one end of the line to the other. The children's faces watching this happen are priceless in the photo's!
We attached some tape to the wall in straight lines (sticky side up) and let the kids attach newspaper strips to them. A lovely pre-reading/writing exercise to work from left to right and to train eye and hand coordination to work together in straight lines.
