Splat Art and Monkeynastix day

Super fun day today with Monkeynastix and a Splat Art activity! I LOVE what the tots did with the giant sponge rectangular blocks in Monkeynastix…so many creative things to do with one kind of object! The best is the child sized tower that they could topple over…such fun!

The tots love using tools and hammers are a hit! A mommy forwarded me a link a while back on using hammers to create “Splat Art” One puts thick globules of paint on paper and cover it lightly with tissue paper or cotton rounds and let the toddlers loose on it with hammers! They hit the tissue paper and SPLAT! a surprise explosion of colour. The children loved it.

Our free choice rotation stations seem to be a real hit. Wonderful cutting and pasting skills developing and super lightbox and magnetic explorations. The nuts and bolts on our magnetic station also provides a super fine-motor development opportunity.
