We've been showing the tots a 3 minute long video in the mornings during circle time about seasons and the different clothes we wear in Summer, Winter etc. We are looking at Winter in particular this week, being cold and us wearing warm and cozy clothes!
This week our free choice rotation stations are:
1. Magnet play with frozen nuts and bolts (Brrr...sooo cold!)
2.We're looking at basic measurements and distinguishing between long and short by packing out trains and linking them up to form different lengths. An excellent game for early numeracy.
3. Letter exploration in "snow" where the tots excavate various letters from a bowl of flour...they are so good at recognising the letters in their name!
4. We are building trains using basic cut-out shapes like squares, triangles and circles.
5. Some lovely cutting out of shapes, practising those fine motor skills
